Driving to Denton

Denton is conveniently located just north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, not far from where six major freeways converge. If you are a faculty member in Texas, you can probably get to Denton in 5 hours or less.

From the south: If you are coming from San Antonio (5 hours), San Marcos (4 hours), Austin (3.5 hours), Georgetown (3 hours), or Waco (2 hours), you’ll want to take I-35 northbound and stay on I-35 West when I-35 splits in Hillsboro.

From the southeast: If you are coming from Houston (4 hours) or Huntsville (3 hours), take I-45 northbound to I-35 East northbound.

From the west: If you are coming from El Paso (9 hours), Midland (5 hours), or Abilene, take I-10/I-20 eastbound to Loop 820 northbound in Fort Worth to I-35 West northbound.

From the northwest: If you are coming from Lubbock (5 hours), take SH 84 southbound to SH 380 eastbound.

From then north: If you are coming from Oklahoma, take I-35 southbound.
